Christ-centered, multicultural community
We’re glad you are here, exploring our church family. Journey is not a perfect church, however, we are on our way to reach our final destination.
That is why we strive to be a church that doesn’t care about where you have been, but we care about where your final destination will be.
We are all on a journey, filled with our share of doubts and faith, victories and struggles, and yet we desire to love God and love others.
At Journey of Faith, we view Christian life, not as a single event, but as a lifelong growth process. So if you haven’t visited our church family, we would like to encourage you to visit us. Come, and experience the fullness of life that our Lord Jesus Christ has for us as a community of faith.
What We Believe
There is only one God who created the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, each fully God and are one God, and yet each are personally distinct from the other in the Trinity.
Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and lived a sinless human life and willingly offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead bodily on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and is at the right hand of the Father and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
The Holy Spirit, third Person of the Trinity, is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin and their need for Jesus Christ. He draws people to Christ. He indwells in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power to live for God, and understand spiritual truth. He gives every believer a spiritual gift so that they may serve the Church and reach the lost.
The Bible is God’s infallible, inerrant Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and final authority for Christian beliefs and living.
All people are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. We are created to live in fellowship with God and with one another. Sin brought separation from God and apart from Jesus Christ, all people are spiritually dead and deserve eternal death.
However, God gives salvation and eternal life to those who believe and trust in Jesus Christ and in His sacrifice on his/her behalf. Salvation is God’s gift to us that must be received by repentance and faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross.
Therefore, salvation cannot be earned through human goodness or effort. Eternal life begins the moment a person receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When a believer dies, he/she will live eternally with God in Heaven. When a non-believer dies, he/she will be eternally separated from God in hell. Both Heaven and Hell are real places.
The genuine believer is secure in salvation because it is God’s gift to us. A believer does not “keep” salvation by what they do or accomplish but it is secure because of the grace and power of God.
